Love me some Christmas

Christmas break was amazing. It wasn’t perfect, but nothing is. I didn’t want it to be perfect though, I just wanted it to be great. Quite frankly we did it all. We visited with both families, opened presents and played with our new toys. We stuffed our faces with WAY too much sugar, went to a movie and did plenty of shopping. We even watched obnoxiously emotional movies that I inevitably bawled through. It was just…. Amazing :)
Have you ever had one of those years that you don’t get everything you want for Christmas? Well.. that was NOT one of those years. :) We got spoi-led! New computer(web book), new tires, tea pot, rocking chair, new boots, cloths, jewelry, CANDY, sack of potatoes(one of my gifts to Justin), toy helicopters, gift cards, a nights stay at a hotel sometime by Bear lake :) Like I said… spoiled!
All the things I listed were the physical gifts of this years Christmas. But I think my favorite part of Christmas this year was…. And don’t call me corny… the way everyone treated everyone. We have a new addition to the family, and Its not the typical kind of situation you would assume. Yes we have a few new babies in the family this year, but that’s not the addition I am talking about. We have a new “brother” this year at the Cooks house. He’s pretty awesome. He fits in perfect in the cook family and we love having him there. It would seem weird if he wasn’t there when we come home to visit. In just a short time he has become part of the family and we really appreciate what he brings to the table :) Anthony you da bomb lol
I also wanted to talk about my Mom and how amazing she is. . and sneaky lol. As a newly wed couple, Justin and I haven’t quite mastered the art of gift giving in our little family. We didn’t know how much to spend on each other, or what to get. Which resulted in me kinda sucking when it came to being “on top” of gift getting this year. He spoiled me, but I kinda failed. As we were heading to Kaysville on Christmas eve, I was on the verge of tears texting my mom about how badly I failed, and she immediately offered to fix everything. I don’t know what I’d do without her. She went to the store for me and got exactly what I was going to get if I could have managed to get away for a couple minutes. She even had something extra for me to give him. She is just so prepared. I don’t know how she does it, and I highly doubt that I will ever learn. Something else that she secretly did this Christmas weekend was clean our windows on our car. We have been married nearly 6 months now, but our car still had polka dots and “just married” written on the windows. The paint used at our wedding was pretty sturdy car window paint, cuz it was still easily legible even after six months. Anyway, we got in the car today and realized the windows were perfectly clean. We tried to figure out how it happened. Was it Ben(brother in law) when he borrowed the car yesterday when his car was boxed in? Was it my dad when we were still asleep this morning? Well, I found out from my sister that it was mom. She didn’t tell us, she just did it… and trust me, it could not have been very easy. We tried a few times, but it would scrape the glass or just make your hand cramp before you really made any progress. My mom is so cute :) and we don’t even see any scrapes so she is kinda magical lol
Anyway, its time for me to clean up our apt and find places for everything. Our car is a mess and I am actually excited to clean it out.. that’s a first. It might be because it’s messy with new stuff but I dunno ;)
ps- i had this written up the day after Christmas.. and am now just posting it. i know i'm a slacker

hair cuts, spelling, and Babies. I think i drank too much DEW

well... i just finished reading my friends blog and i am feeling like i really suck at writing. But considering she graduated from Cornell, i really don't care too much. She's kinda amazingly smart. AND pregnant :) I am super happy for her, and i'm secretly hoping that we will get pregnant over here as well cuz that would be fun to complain to each other about how uncomfortable we are :) among other reasons :)

HOly smiley faces!! i have no control whatsoever

time to get real.. I made friends this week. kinda
I am going to blame it on the new hair cut, but maybe getting my hair colored and adding bangs was just the perfect thing to boost my confidence enough to actually talk to people without feeling like napoleon dynamite and overwhelming people with my awkwardness. Holy runon sentence.

totally off the subject, on facebook i saw someone start a crazy hard core argument about grammar and spelling and (i just went back and fixed how i spelled grammar) and i was like "boy am i glad that they don't read my blog" (and yes, i said "boy" to myself... so 80s?) anywii (just spelled it like Wii ) hahahaha... okay enough with the side notes

time to finish this episode of psych so i can go cuddle with my husband and possible get going on the whole "making babies" task i was speaking of earlier.. hahahahahahahhahahaha jk jk dog...
maybe

Late Night snack in my cozy jail cell

I love feeling productive. I have now have a job that i love. My house is clean (mostly) and put together. it actually feels like a home now instead of a jail cell. And our life has kind of settled down.

I have started making different things. okay lets be honest, i have made like... two things in the last two days. but thats good for me. i made homemade fruit roll ups today.. about to take them out of the oven. thats impressive right? .. to me it is.

3 hours later..

Fruit leather turned out really yummy. over cooked some of it, but its still good. not gonna lie, i thought the kiwi/strawberry/pineapple one was gonna be yummier than the apple/grape. i was wrong. Apple/grape it is..

Justin just popped his head out of our bedroom to make sure i wasn't dead on the floor or something.. it IS 4 am.. and he caught me on youtube.. obsessively watching fan made Hunger Games trailers, and cast videos while i patiently(not really so much) wait for the fruit to be finished drying in the oven. He was not at all surprised. I have restarted my terrible habit of watching my shows on Hulu in the middle of the night while he sleeps. Its not entirely my fault... he has the computer all day for school, so i have to be my unproductive self in the late pm/early am so i don't keep my husband from being his productive self while the sun is up.

weeell, i guess i should go to bed so i can spend some quality time with my husband. We really only have the nights together lately and i'm wasting it with late night/early morning cooking, obsessive behavior for morbidly awesome books, and typing in a blog that no one reads ;)

nighty night no one.

Looped Out

Tonights blog will be a little jumbled and weird, but here goes.

Justin just read my blog... for the 1st time... and now he is hyperactive. here are a few words coming out of his mouth:

"honey, i think i should quit school.. and get a job as a a voice actor"

*everything you read from now on was said in a high elmo voice*

"and the guy took a piece of meat, and threw it on the grill... and i said "Oh NOoo!" ...

"i'm not 22 years old, i swears.. i'm 2.2 years old i swears!"

"i pwead the fifff"

"crap, you typted it all up"...

"pwease don't post dat"...

"i'm gonna punch you in da head"...

"why you typinn dit out?"

"we're goin to AWAII!!!!"

I think we may be a little loopy tonight. Justin spent 14 hours on campus today starting at 5:30am. He only got 3 hours of sleep last night, and i only got 8(which is not very long compared to my usual 13 hours) :/ .... then he came home and we made dinner (a huge plate of chicken nuggets and Egg salad)... impressive, i know. Its better than Mountain Dew and Fun dip..okay not gonna lie,,, we drank 3 cans of Mountain Dew. But then we watched Army Wives(big surprise..) and we both got sucked into it and now just realized we were both bawling. we are wussies. . but i love it. then he read my blog, and thats where i started tonight with this post. :)

Officially Addicted

I am officially addicted to the show Army Wives. It is on Netflix, which means i have been watching season after season of it and it's now practically my reality. You know.. That show you watch and just can't turn off, or that book you read and just can't put down.. and 3 am rolls around and you are either dreaming about it, or still up watching/reading it? well thats me right now... but its actually 3:58 am to be exact.

Yeah i'm a little pathetic. Justin will walk in the family room this morning when he gets up for work and see how badly i'm addicted. : / .. he will probably walk into the room, i'll be crying and he will just laugh at me. It always seems like he walks in right during the saddest scenes.. and he always just kinda smiles when he see me crying, or yelling at the characters on the screen. I tend to predict whats gonna happen next. He'll call me during his breaks at school, and before i even say hi to him, i'm off about whats about to happen and how guilty the characters are gonna feel after they blah blah blah... Its pathetic. i think i need to find a 12 step meeting or something.. do they have 12 step meetings for this kind of thing? Army wives Anonymous?

My very 1st blog post thing-a-majig

I read through a friends blog about when she had her baby... and I have to admit, I was bawling by the end of it. I am not much of a writer, but I felt that maybe I would enjoy writing in a blog more then writing in a journal(which I have not done in years). I have to warn everyone now... that my spelling is terrible.. i like to leave the letter i lowercase, i use smiley faces WAY too much, and i like to use dots (.......) to show that i am either thinking, or don't know which form of punctuation to use. :) so if you can stand it, feel free to stalk me :)
